The water also reached 13800 feet; Modi government quenches the thirst of rural India through "Jal Jeevan Mission".

The central government is working round the clock to ensure drinking water to every citizen of the country. The government has brought water to Dem Chok village located at an altitude of 13,800 feet in Ladakh through the Jaljeevan project. The pipe is arranged in such a way that water is available to all the 38 houses in the village. Solar submersible pumps are also installed for smooth operation of the pipe.

"Jal Jeevan Mission" is a scheme to provide domestic drinking water connections to all households in rural areas by 2024. This project, which was the main promise of the BJP in the elections, is fast approaching victory. In the Niti Aayog (Justice Commission) meeting, the Prime Minister said that the country's poor are suffering the bitter consequences of the lack of drinking water procurement programme.
