It's been a few days since the much awaited Nothing Phone (1) in the smartphone world has arrived in India. The Nothing Phone (1) is the first smartphone from a new brand led by Karl Pee, who was one of the founders of the world famous mobile brand OnePlus. The OnePlus brand was launched in 2013 by Carl Pee and Pete Lu. In 2020, Karl Pee, who stepped down from One Plus, started a new brand called Nothing. Their first product Nothing Ear (1) earbuds was launched earlier.
Many things, including the different design, have created a huge debate among people about this phone. The Nothing Phone (1) is powered by a Snapdragon 778G Plus processor. There are also dual 50 MP cameras. The phone is available in two colors (Black & White). Behind these is an array of LED lights called Glyphs. This is the main factor that sets Nothing Phone apart from other phones. The weight of this phone is 194 grams.
Other features include dual stereo speakers, in-display fingerprint scanner, IP53 water resistance, NFC support, and more. Meanwhile, multiple white LED strips on the back of the phone make the phone stand out. The Nothing phone has a 6.55-inch flexible OLED display with a resolution of 2400×1080 pixels at 402 ppi. There is also HDR10+ support with an adaptive refresh rate of 60Hz – 120Hz. It also has Gorilla Glass protection. The maximum brightness is 1200 nits. Also, there is a 120Hz refresh rate and 240 touch sampling ratio.
Talking about the camera, the main camera is Sony's 50MP sensor (IMX766). It has optical image stabilization and electronic image stabilization. The accompanying ultrawide camera also has a resolution of 50 MP. It uses Samsung's JN1 50MP sensor. It only has electronic image stabilization. A 16 MP Sony sensor is used for the selfie camera. Camera features include HDR, portrait mode, macro mode (ultrawide), Bo-K etc. It has a 50 MP ultra-wide dual camera setup with f/1.88 aperture, OIS and EIS image stabilization, HDR and Slo-Mo (120 fps). JN1 sensor with f/2.2 aperture, EIS image stabilization, macro (4cm), HDR. On the front, a 16 MP Sony IMX471 sensor with f/2.45 aperture and 1080p at 30 fps, 4K 30p and 1080p 60p. Only 1080p video recording is available for the front camera.
You can get up to 12GB of RAM. LPDDR5 module is used for this. The battery is 4,500 mAh. Fast charging support is 33w. There is also wireless charging support. But the charger is not provided with the phone. Face unlock is provided in this phone. The number of 5G bands is 12. It is a handset with Bluetooth 5.2, Wi-Fi 6 etc., three microphones and nothing OS based on Android 12.
The design with specially crafted lighting system makes this phone stand out. When phone calls come in, when a notification comes in, when it's charging, all the lights on the back light up in a special way. The Nothing Phone (1) model is priced at Rs 32,999 for the 8GB/128GB variant and Rs 35,999 for the 12GB/256GB variant.
