Sri Lankan protestors have recovered millions of rupees from Gotabaya Rajapaksa's palace. Video of people counting money goes viral.

It is reported that the people who seized the palace of Gotabaya Rajapaksa, the president of Sri Lanka, found money worth millions of rupees from there. Videos of protesters counting this money are now viral on social media.

Gotabaya Rajapaksa had escaped before the protests started in Sri Lanka on Saturday. A video of black boxes being loaded onto a ship went viral. There were unconfirmed reports that this was Gotabaya's escaped ship and that the boxes belonged to high VV IPs including himself. Meanwhile, some military sources say Gotabaya is still in Sri Lanka. Meanwhile, protesters set fire to Sri Lankan Prime Minister Ranil Wickresinghe's residence.

According to Sri Lanka's Daily Mirror newspaper, the money recovered from the President's palace by the protestors was given by the President himself to be kept by the soldiers. "All the money stolen from our country has been found. The AC was working in the President's house when people were worried about the lack of electricity in their homes," a man counting notes said in a video.

Hundreds of people have occupied the President's palace. You can also see a video of many people eating at the dining table. Some are also seen bathing in the swimming pool in the garden in front of the palace. Some are also seen enjoying music at the President's palace.

Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe also resigned last night. Army Chief General Shavendra Silva has since appealed to the people to cooperate with the army to maintain law and order. Like the President, the Prime Minister has escaped with his family. I don't know where they are.
