Monsoon season is generally a season of illness and health care. In the month of Karkitaka, which is observed as a holy month according to Hinduism (Malayalam month), people see a mole on their forehead. Taking the juice of a small plant called Mukkuti and touching it on the forehead is described as mukkutichant and mukkutipott. But it is not something that is touched only as part of the ritual. There are also health reasons behind this. Because Mukutty is rich in medicinal properties. It has a prominent place among the herbs prescribed in Ayurveda.
Mukutti is something that cools the body. When rubbed and applied to the forehead, it stimulates the nerves in this area. Mukkutichant can also be used as an antidote to the body in cancer which is also considered as a disease period. According to Ayurveda, it is recommended to use the entire root or the leaf or flower only.
Mukutichant can be applied on the forehead to reduce the heat and pain caused by fever. Water boiled with this will get rid of phlegm. Drinking three drops of water mixed with honey is a cure for phlegm and cold. Ground Mukuti mixed with charcoal water is a good remedy for Asthma. If you have chronic cough, just crush it with a spoonful of honey and consume it. It is good to rub it on the bite of venomous animals. It is also good for urinary diseases. The ancients say that eating its root is a remedy for this.
