BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari has demanded India's intervention in the ongoing attacks by religious fundamentalists on Hindus in Bangladesh. He has written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi requesting this. His letter comes in the context of attacks on Hindus and temples in various parts of Bangladesh last Friday.
In his letter to the Prime Minister, he asked the Prime Minister to take steps for a diplomatic solution to the problems faced by Hindus in Bangladesh. Hindus in Bangladesh need to be protected. This should be resolved diplomatically. Bangladesh should be told that the continuous attacks on Hindus are unacceptable.
It is well known that the minority Hindus in Bangladesh are continuously persecuted by religious fundamentalists. The letter also states that many Hindu temples, shops and houses have been vandalized in various parts of the country in the attack by religious extremists.
So far there has been no independent inquiry or proper inquiry into the ongoing incidents of violence against Hindus. He also demanded in the letter that there should be a thorough investigation into the incidents. The fundamentalist attack on Hindus took place in Lohangara upazila on Friday. The attack was over an 18-year-old youth's Facebook post. After the Friday afternoon prayers, the religious extremists organized and carried out a widespread attack.
